Villa Faravelli, Art Exhibitions on the Riviera
A jewel of rationalist architecture, Villa Faravelli is located in the municipality of Imperia. The Villa was commissioned by industrialist Umberto Faravelli and designed by engineer Francesco Muratorio.
Elegant, refined and distinguished, Villa Faravelli harmoniously combines 20th-century Piacenza taste with neo-Renaissance touches. Inside, the furnishings, tapestries and layout of the rooms have been rigorously maintained.
Since 2016, Villa Faravelli has housed the contemporary art collection of Genoese architect Lino Invernizzi, subsequently donated to the city by his widow Maria Teresa Danè. Walking around the Villa, one can admire numerous works, all related to well-known Italian and international artists: Lucio Fontana, Mario Radice, Enzo Morlotti, Marino Marini, Piero Dorazio, Vittorio Tavernari, Carlo Nangeroni, Renato Birolli, Victor Vasarely, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Josef Albers, František Kupka.
Following the donation, Villa Faravelli became the headquarters of MACI – the Contemporary Art Museum of Imperia – an institution that organises exhibitions and events alongside the permanent collection.
Please note that, thanks to the Imperia museum network, it is possible to purchase entrance tickets with different access options for the Naval Museum, Planetarium, Villa Faravelli and Villa Grock.
