The Project

Between the 19th and 20th century, thanks to the mild climate, in the border area between Italy and France lots of  gardens were created. They were important from a naturalistic, historical, cultural and architectural point of view.

In order to build a tourist offer capable of intercepting visitor flows,  within the framework of the P.O. Interreg VI-A France-Italy ALCOTRA 2021-2027, the ‘Jardival 2’ project, following in the footsteps of the first Jardival was born.
There are 4 Italian partners (the Municipalities of Imperia, Sanremo and Costarainera, coordinated by the Agency in Liguria) and 3 French partners (the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, the Côte d’Azur Regional Tourism Committee, the City of Cannes), owners or managers of gardens, supported by tourism promotion institutions.

Three historic Ligurian gardens (Villa Faravelli in Imperia, Villa Ormond in Sanremo and the Novaro Wellness Park in Costarainera) as well as the Morès Garden in Cannes have been improved, with important works including spaces for visitors, removal of architectural barriers and improvement of accessibility, thanks to the connection with the Pista Ciclabile del Ponente in Liguria.
